Camouflage

Can vitiligo be camouflaged/covered-up?

Many people with vitiligo feel more confident in public when they cover their vitiligo with some type of camouflage or makeup. There are much better corrective cosmetics on the market today than in the past that work well for women as well as men.  Some choose to cover their vitiligo every day, others just for special occasions.

What type of cosmetics are available to cover vitiligo spots?

Cosmetic options for vitiligo include corrective cosmetic creams; homemade stains made from food coloring and rubbing alcohol; DHA (dihydroxyacetone)-based sunless tanners available in cream, spray or airbrush (home or salon); and non-DHA, custom color products (airbrush or stipple).
