Camp Victory was established by GVF in 2024 under the vision and leadership of Pearl Grimes, MD, a Los Angeles-based dermatologist specializing in pigmentary disorders. Dr. Grimes envisions a world in which the burden of vitiligo is eliminated for children and their families, so Camp Victory was designed to provide an experience that is both fun and therapeutic. Camp Victory’s unique model marries the fun you expect from camp – ropes courses, dance parties, arcade games, and much more – with the mental health benefits of time dedicated to counseling sessions with licensed clinical therapists. Unlike most camp experiences, Camp Victory includes a parent/guardian in all activities, ensuring that the impact of camp is experienced by the children and their primary caretaker. Plus, all of our therapists and volunteers are adults living with vitiligo, providing positive examples to the children and their parents of what it looks like to thrive with vitiligo.
Camp Victory 2026 was held at Great Wolf Lodge, just outside Charlotte, North Carolina. We welcomed 45 kids and teens along with their parent/guardian for 3.5 days of fun, support, and victories over vitiligo.
