Meet Andrea Tovar-Garza, MD, IFAAD. Board certified dermatologist. Founder of VeraSkin Dermatology Clinic and Global Vitiligo Foundation Medical Advisory Board Member.
Dr. Tovar-Garza was born in México. She graduated cum laude from Medical School at University of Monterrey in Mexico. She attended the Dermatologic Institute of Jalisco “Dr José Barba Rubio” for Dermatology Residency. Afterwards, Dr. Tovar-Garza spent two years at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas where she specialized in Pigmentary Disorders and Vitiligo.
Dr. Tovar-Garza currently lives in Monterrey, Mexico, and founded a Dermatology Clinic: VeraSkin. She is one of the few dermatologists in Latin America performing vitiligo surgery, such as: mini-punch grafts, blister grafts, and melanocyte and keratinocyte transplant procedures.
She has worked on translation research in vitiligo while attending UT Southwestern Medical Center and has participated in multiple publications on vitiligo on quality of life, cross-cultural validation outcomes, treatment for active vitiligo, and vitiligo surgery.
