Title: Survey Investigating the Prevalence of Vitiligo and Vitiligo Signs Among Adults in Europe, Japan, and the United States
Summary:
Results from this multinational, online population-based survey demonstrated that the prevalence of vitiligo was 1.3% across 3 regions (United States, Europe, Japan), which is higher than previously estimated in population-based studies. A sizable proportion of participants self-reported vitiligo or vitiligo signs without a formal diagnosis from a physician, indicating a need for increased knowledge in the general public about vitiligo and available treatment options. Regardless of formal diagnosis, most patients reported using management strategies to relieve vitiligo signs.
