The Global Vitiligo Foundation (GVF) is an established 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to advance efforts to improve the quality of life for all people affected by vitiligo through education, clinical care, and emotional support. Our long-term goal is a cure. As an organizational sponsor, your funds will be used across the entire organization to help move our mission forward and you will receive timely recognition across all events and media outlets. The GVF educational initiatives are designed to educate and enlighten the following audiences:
Sponsorship Will Provide Support for the Following Educational Initiatives:
Each year, GVF accepts abstracts and scientific posters for presentation at our annual Abstract Symposium. This session is held in the morning, the day before the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) conference. The greatest researchers in Vitiligo are in attendance and give plenary speeches at the meeting. We recruit young dermatologists, medical students, residents, research fellows and attending physicians to submit their work and attend the conference because we know there needs to be a pipeline of talent to get us to a cure.
With education as one if its key goals, GVF believes in providing online resources for patients and physicians. With this in mind, the GVF is working toward developing additional online resources both web-based, printable/digital handouts and social media. Drafting the information is one thing, getting it in the hands of the right people is another. To help achieve this goal, GVF will work with social media experts to share the resources across multiple platforms.
This patient-led initiative is designed to bring patients together from around the USA and the world to hear research updates from physician experts and how to better live with vitiligo. The GVF has been supporting the World Vitiligo Day in the USA for more than 3 years. It also helped lead the efforts in successfully organizing the 2018 Vitiligo International Symposium (VIS) in Detroit, MI with the world’s experts in vitiligo. However, that expertise means very little unless it is in service of the patients. This is a chance for you to support patients with vitiligo at the biggest gathering of vitiligo patients in the United States. You Can Impact the Timeline for Finding A Cure
